The basics
What is DealerMCP?
DealerMCP is a free listing for your dealership on the Agentic Dealer Network. It puts your live inventory where AI models like ChatGPT and Claude can find it, answer questions about it, quote it, and route a ready buyer to your store as a standard lead in your CRM.
What is an MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI models read and use a business directly instead of just reading about it. A website made your store findable on Google. An MCP makes your store usable by AI: live inventory, real pricing, real deals.
What is the Agentic Dealer Network?
The network is the shared infrastructure behind DealerMCP. Many dealerships, one integration: an AI connects to the network once and can search every store on it. Your store keeps its own inventory, its own pricing, and its own leads. The machine-facing side lives at agenticdealernetwork.com.
How much does it cost?
Listing is free. Searchable inventory, out-the-door quotes, and holds are free and stay free. There is no invoice for being on the network. Lead delivery is free today. If we ever charge for CRM lead delivery, it is an optional add-on and stays off until the store turns it on. Nothing bills by default. We will give 60 days written notice before any paid option exists.
Why would a dealership need this now?
Because shoppers are starting their car search inside AI models instead of a search bar, and those models recommend what they can see and transact with. AI shopping is still early, which is exactly why listing now makes sense: it costs nothing, takes minutes of your time, and the stores connected early are the ones the models learn first.
Who is behind DealerMCP?
It's built by dealership people, not a software vendor. Chris Hudson runs Mark Miller Subaru in the Salt Lake Valley, and Ben Reuling builds the network. Mark Miller Subaru is the first store live on it, running the same rails offered to you.
Getting listed
How do I get my store listed?
Start with the two-minute form at dealermcp.ai/onboard: your store basics, who runs your inventory export, and your CRM's lead email. We reply, collect one recent inventory export by email from you or your feed vendor, map it once, hand over private SFTP credentials, and your existing feed does the rest.
What file do you need from me?
A real, recent export of your inventory, the same CSV your inventory provider already sends your website vendor. A file with actual cars in it, not just column names, because we test the mapping against your real data so your first live day is clean. If one file covers several stores, just tell us which store name matches which ID.
I don't know how my inventory feed works. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Tell us who runs your inventory export, usually your website provider or feed vendor, think HomeNet, vAuto, or your DMS export, and we hand them a one-page technical guide and take it from there. You never touch the plumbing.
Do I need to change my DMS, website, or CRM?
No. DealerMCP rides on the inventory export you already produce, and leads arrive in your existing CRM as standard leads. No API project, no new software at the store, and nothing about your process changes on day one.
How long does setup take?
Your part takes minutes. On our side, we map your columns once up front, then the network picks up new files every hour and publishes your inventory. Once your feed is pointed at your drop and your fees are confirmed, your store flips live.
What is the SFTP drop?
A private, write-only destination for your inventory file, issued to your store as a one-time credential packet. Your drop is yours alone and invisible to anyone else. Your feed vendor adds it as a destination in the export tool they already use, at any cadence from hourly to daily.
How it works
Which AI models work with it?
Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP-capable client. The network speaks the open Model Context Protocol, so as new AI models adopt it, your store is already compatible without any new work from you.
What do the AI models actually see?
Your inventory and your pricing, the information you already publish: vehicles, photos, options, prices, and your store's name and location. Every record is freshness-stamped so a model knows exactly how current it is.
How fresh is the inventory the AI shows?
The network picks up new files every hour and every run is monitored. If your file ever breaks, we contact you, you're never silently stale.
Where do the price quotes come from?
From your own fee schedule. Quotes are itemized out-the-door numbers with taxes and fees, built from figures you confirmed at setup. The AI reads tools; it never invents a price. If a number is on a quote, you put it there.
Can a shopper buy the car through the AI?
No. The AI finds the car, prices it, and hands your store a ready buyer. Your dealership finishes every deal, in your showroom, on your paper. There is no consumer checkout and no online F&I. The network's job ends where your sales process begins.
How do leads arrive?
As a standard lead delivered to your CRM's lead email address, the same intake your CRM already uses for Autotrader or Cars.com. Your CRM turns it into a lead card automatically, and it arrives carrying the deal's context, so it's a nearly finished conversation, not a name to chase. You review every lead before it sends.
How is this different from being on Autotrader or Cars.com?
Marketplaces list your cars on their website for humans to browse. DealerMCP makes your cars readable and quotable by AI models directly, wherever the shopper is talking to their AI. It's a different front door for a different kind of shopper, and it doesn't replace or interfere with anything you run today.
How can I see it working before I sign up?
Connect your own AI to the network in about a minute, no signup, nothing to install. The address and step-by-step instructions for Claude and ChatGPT are on the home page. Ask it to find a car, then ask for an out-the-door quote. That's exactly how it will shop your store.
Control and privacy
Does this touch my customer data?
No. The network shares your inventory and pricing, the things you already publish. It never touches your customer records or your DMS. In the network's own records, shopper contact details are stored hashed; when a shopper asks to be connected, the lead your store receives includes the name and number they chose to share. Nothing is harvested and nothing is sold.
Do I control the leads?
Yes. Leads queue for your review before they send, and every lead lands in your CRM, your pipeline, your customer.
Can I turn it off?
Whenever you like. Stop sending the file, or ask us to flip your store off, and you're out. No exit process, no retention games, no notice period. Your data, your store, your call.
Is there a contract?
No paid subscription to be listed. Use is governed by these Terms. You can unlist anytime.
What if my inventory file breaks or my vendor changes formats?
Every hourly run is monitored. If a file fails, we contact you and work it out with your feed contact. You will never find out from a customer that your inventory went dark.
